Bookish: An Indie Shop for Folks Who Read

A friend and I dropped into this lovely bookstore right before Thanksgiving and found it to be a charming place with great character. I loved the selection of popular books and gifts. We had a great time chatting with the sweet owner and learning more about the store and its history. Visit this wonderful store! I bought lots of Christmas gifts here and we were shocked at the great prices. Go there! You’ll love it!

Sara and company are the best bookshop in the region, maybe the country. They're always knowledgeable, helpful and nice. The shop is cozy, fun, quirky and kid friendly. They hold nearly daily events, and are very involved with readers and writers, locally. Of course Barrie is the best part.

I'm an author who had a book in this store, and I was treated very poorly. They delayed paying me forever, and when I pressed them, the owner unceremoniously shipped the last books to me with not a word of notice. I'd go to Chapters in Van Buren and visit the wonderful people there if I wanted to patronize an indie bookstore in the River Valley.

I visited here once with my boyfriend last year. They are very friendly, and the cat was so cute. They gave me a bookmark after the cat swatted at me 😂. It was a hot day. I was really nervous lol. I will definitely be coming here again! ❤️ I recommend!
