West Chester Borough holds a variety of small businesses, one being this adorable bookstore on Gay street. The outside may seem unassuming but upon entry, the interior is warmly lit with soft piano sweeping through the quaint building. As you explore its two floors, there are bookcases and bookcases full of books along with places to sit and read. It’s organized in such a way that each room is not only a different genre but a different vibe. My favorite part is how nostalgic the inventory is from the kids section having CS Lewis and Shel Silverstein to the classics section having Jane Austen and Charles Dickens. Back downstairs in the main room there is West Chester merchandise, fun stickers, crazy puzzles, silly coasters, beautiful stationery and so much more! While there, I got to talk to one of the owners, Ty, who explained that he runs the store with his wife. He was so kind and enjoyed getting to share his passion of books with me. If you are in the borough and want a cozy, local bookstore, highly recommend supporting this one!!! BONUS for WCU students: Show your student ID and you get a 10% off discount.

I was visiting the area and searching for a specific book when I called this bookstore, yes, they had it, but were closing in 17 minutes. We rushed over and arrived with just 7 minutes to spare, and in that brief time were welcomed by the sweetest, most hospitable owners. The store is full of incredible finds; you’re bound to discover the perfect read. To the owners, thank you for your kindness and exceptional care. It truly meant a lot, and I can’t wait to visit again.

This place was absolutely wonderful. As soon as me and my friend walked in we were greeted by the guy behind the desk who gave us a friendly hello and a short run down of the selection and layout. It was organized perfectly, everything was easy to walk through and read, found my way upstairs easily. The sections were small but man, were they good. Me and my friend sat down and looked through the poetry section for around 30 minutes. Some really good hidden gems. I also found quite the collection of nature books such as dog training and bird identification. I’d never go to a place like Barnes & Noble‘s, actually just stumbled upon this place on a walk. The environment was quiet and organized and it really felt safe to just…look around. im not much for reading, haven’t picked up a book in years, but this place seriously has me wanting to come back. My only concern was the lack of prices on things, I really wanted to know the prices of a couple books I picked up but I found it redundant to keep running up and down the stairs, maybe it’s somewhere inside the book where i didn’t see but other then that I LOVE this cute little book store!

What a charming bookstore in the heart of West Chester! It is woman owned and curated so beautifully! The gentleman helped my son find books that fit his genre preference! We will definitely be back!
