Fantastic store! One of the best I've been to on the east coast! Very friendly staff, clean shop, love that it's dog friendly! Fantastic selection and wonderful setup! Love the books I was able to pick up while there! Will absolutely be back at some point even though I live out of state (:

I’ve been trying to visit as many bookstores as possible and this happened to be one I can across. I appreciate that they have designated parking spots for you. The inside is well organized and very clean. I liked the little wigglitz (3D printed figures) and I got a good handful of them! I also loved the little stuff animals. They had a great selection of books and genres to choose from!

Books on the Square is a gem in Wayland Square! It has a great selection of books, and the staff provide notes and reviews on them to help you to decide on your next read. In addition, there is a really nice selection of puzzles, including ones that are seasonal (e.g. a harvest-themed puzzle for fall). You can also find calendars and other items that make for great local souvenirs if you have family or friends visiting RI from elsewhere. Last but not least, it’s helpful that Books on the Square has some parking spots in the lot behind the store since parking can be a little challenging in Wayland sometimes (watch out for the step at the back of the store; I’ve see a few folks trip on it when entering and exiting). There is also a restroom if you need it.

Wonderful bookstore in Providence RI. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Great selection and opportunity to browse. Bonus for allowing dogs. The only downside is the limited parking nearby, but not really much of a problem if you're walking around the area.

A bookstore thrives...thank goodness. Whatever book is not carried can be ordered and a wonderful children's section as well. Also some sundries which can be picked up as little gifts. Go visit.
