There is something very special when you walk into the East Bay Booksellers shop on College Avenue; there’s an aroma that permeates in bookstores that bring back memories of your favorite college browsing experiences. East Bay has that magical attraction and besides for their wonderful selection of books for children and adults, you’ll find yourself wanting to spend as much time as possible reading ss well as buying their books!

Love this bookstore. They had a huge fire in their original building so they moved down the street to a new location. The new place is smaller but still the same great staff and the same great books.

Very friendly, wholesome, and spacious shop carrying an excellent selection of books across genre and I especially appreciate the art and design books. Glad the community came together to save it after the fire and looking forward to its longevity! Also biased but I like that they carry a lot of McSweeney’s :)

Happened to stop by to try to get these Japanese paper notebooks that I love for writing which I bought from them a couple years ago and saw they they just had a fire. Could still smell the smoke and the fire truck was still in front. I hope they’re able to rebuild and come back! It was such a lovely bookstore and we have fewer and fewer of these kinds of bookstores nowadays.

It's impossible not to find something here! East Bay Booksellers' new location may be smaller than their old one, but the booksellers still curate a wonderful selection of diverse books. Next to the bestsellers are reprinted novels from an indie press saving stories from obscurity, or a newly translated novel from Japan or Korea. I love it. Helps that they have Traveler's Notebooks and other great stationery too!!! I hope they're able to get more stationery again in the future.
