Get Lit Books AND Things is an oasis in Moreno Valley... Get out of the heat! Drop in, grab a book, have a seat! Great conversation! Great selection! A great kids selection! This is a very cozy and unique bookstore. There is a wide variety of books and trinkets to choose from. They have everything from incense to puzzles. They also have very affordable prices. I enjoyed meeting some new friends while working on a puzzle at the back table. I love the map that lets you put a pin in it to show the different places their customers are from. The owners, Ruthie and Danni, are so friendly, welcoming, and caring - they treat everyone like family. I love stopping into their store whenever I’m at the mall to see what new and exciting things they have going on. I also like to try answering the trivia question. Danni and Ruthie are very supportive of their customers and love giving back to the community hosting events and doing fundraisers. I would highly recommend this store.

This Black, queer woman-owned gem isn’t just selling books — they’re cultivating community, curating culture, and supporting the full journey of every bibliophile who walks through their doors. I’ve shopped here for Greek life merchandise and left feeling like royalty. I’ve worked with their brilliant staff to curate a book club for my nonprofit — and in every step, they’ve shown up with deep care, creativity, and alignment. They support all the layers of a reader’s identity — whether you’re seeking joy, justice, healing, or just a really good story. The bookshelves are full of brilliance, but it’s the heart of this place that keeps me coming back. There is majesty in the fact that this space exists — powered by two Black queer women who are building something extraordinary. Get Lit isn’t just a bookstore. It’s a movement. A refuge. A place where stories come alive and readers are reminded they belong.

Get Lit Books & Things is my third place! Just show up and you'll know what I mean. It's a lovely shop, not only because of it's diverse book titles for littles through adults (both used and new) and the wonderfully curated "things" for sale, but also because Danni and Ruthie make everyone that walks through the doors feel like they can pull up and hang out. I knew this from the first day I came in and stayed way longer than I expected. You can tell they care about building community with all the wonderful events they host. I strongly encourage you to stop by. I promise you won't be disappointed!
