My favorite bookstore. Once I graduated from KAMSC and didn't have to spend all my waking hours at Waldo library, I learned to appreciate reading for my own pleasure. I've clearly taken it too far because I can't stop buying books now. I want to say this is the largest independent store in the area, basically two houses worth of books. They have a mix of new and used which my wallet appreciates. Their collection covers almost every author and genre you can think of, and I've found them all here. Classics, new releases, children, YA, local, worldy, comics/manga etc... I've bought Native American fiction, books from my favorite authors, local kayaking/canoeing guides, Michigan historical, Rep. John Lewis graphic novel and started my The MAXX comic collection here. The staff is always helpful, if you're looking for something specific just ask and they locate or order it for you. I never have a problem finding something on my list or some random goodness to buy. Even on this visit, having already bought several books in Chicago, I ended up buying several more here. They didn't have the specific book I was looking for, I found others by the same author, plus an interesting find digging through their crates. And I was able to go on a blind date with an author. I mailed the books home, so we'll find out who and what book I picked together. The staff leaves notes and recommendations, they have book clubs and host all kinds of events. Be informed, support local independent bookstores!

Highly recommend this place! My boyfriend and I stumbled across this bookstore after a disappointing visit to a different bookstore. Kazoo Books is amazing! 5 floors of books, large selection of new and used books, beautifully laid out, and super friendly/welcoming staff. I will definitely be taking my sisters there. It’s probably good for my bank account that I don’t live closer because I would probably be there every weekend if I did 😂

This is an independent seller of new and used books with a large selection of which I barely scratched the surface. This was my first visit and I will be going back to explore all floors and genres! I purchased some children's books for my grandkids and a few for myself. They carry a lovely selection of kid's books by local authors. Check it out!

Such a unique and amazing book store. A mix of new releases and used treasures. Sometimes I want to go just for the old book smell in the vintage sections.

Awesome little but not so little independently owned local bookstore. You can buy new or used books. Lots of choices. You could spend a whole day I there and still not see everything.
