This was our first time in Nantucket Bookworks. What an amazing, cozy bookstore in Nantucket with great book finds! They didn’t have the book I was looking for but it didn’t stop me from getting another. My daughter was able to find a few arts + crafts accessories so they do have a nice products assortment. I would definitely want to come back on our next trip here! Also check out their sister store, Mitchell’s Corner, another cute space.

This has to be one of my top ten favorite bookstores, here is why: 1. The location is where the action is downtown. It’s easily accessible and in a beautiful location surrounded by shops and restaurants. So, get a book and get some coffee down the block. 2. The atmosphere and decor/design is thoughtful and enjoyable to spend time in. The space is clean and well put together. It’s one of those spaces that draws you in and makes you want to stay. 3. Great selection of products! Books and other items including a large chocolate selection located in the back of the store. 4. One of the most amazing kid sections I’ve seen in a bookstore. The space was designed for and is inviting for children. Huge win for parents coming to visit that want to look for a book for everyone. 5. Friendly staff! I uploaded a bunch of images so you can get a sense of the space. Check them out! Nantucket bookworks is highly recommended.

Go to Mitchell's Bookstore instead. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. The employees were SO rude to my family and I during our recent visit consistently asking if she "could help us" while we browsed the kids section and read some books in the corner. Mind you, we were the only ones in the store. We had just gotten off the ferry and popped in to get warm and it was the most unwelcome experience. Shocking for a small business during the off-season. I expected better.

Easily my favorite store on the island! I’m consistently mind blown by how carefully and creatively the store is curated, and equally mind blown by how sweet and helpful each and every employee is! Consider yourself lucky if you get to wander around here ♥️

I fell in love with Nantucket Bookworks the first time I was on the island back in 1980. Its slanted, uneven, wooden floors and wooden bookshelves reminded me of the library in the town where I grew up. The fact that it was open until nine or 10 every night totally amazed me and I spent many hours there. I come to the Island 4 times a year and the first place I go the very next morning is Bookworks. It has seen some changes and it's now slightly updated, but not enough to change its character. The staff there is absolutely amazing; they are so helpful. In addition to having most any book you could want, they have the most adorable children's section and the most delicious chocolate section, curated by the wonderful Suzanne Bennett, who searches the world for the most wonderful and unusual chocolate products. Can't wait to see the fantastic Christmas decorations that will be in the shop when I arrive in a couple of weeks. Shirley Murtha
