So amazing!! This isn’t the main bookstore and is usually not open to the public, but I woke up bright and early for this possibly-once-in-a-lifetime Warehouse Sale (June 2nd, 2024) so I can share a few glimpses inside!! Got nearly 70 new and used books, even some signed copies, and spent less than $100!!! For future readers/visitors to Portland that may read this, keep in mind that they’re typically not open to the public at this location! You’re most likely looking for “Powell’s City of Books”!! But yeah, waited in line for a few hours (got there around 6:30am and got in at 10:00am) and it was SO worth it 💕 The workers were very kind and gave everyone waiting in line free coffee and escorted people to the bathroom. Love you Powell’s, make this a yearly thing if you can!!!

As a book lover, I was distraught that I’d never been to the “big Powell’s” whenever I’d visited Portland. I changed that this trip and got lost in its beauty. After 4 books and several souvenirs, we got our fill.

The warehouse sale was fun but a little less seamless than expected. It took about 30 minutes to get in for our "timed" entry. There was a massively large collection of books to buy from. That being said it was just generally organized and the kids section I was bringing my kids to look at was all outside in the hottest part of the collection. Not sure we'll go back next year unless it fits into our schedule/we don't have anything else to do

The warehouse sale was super organized and wonderful. Staff was helpful and there was food and water stations for anyone getting hot. Lines were short and the prices were great. Can’t wait until next year.
