I was in a week before Christmas and Angela was so helpful..my daughter loves reading books and wanted one that was sold out everywhere. Angela took the time to order it for me and as well suggested other that my daughter might love..we weren’t sure if the other would be in on time. My daughter also called and made a wishlist..was so helpful. I sure will be back and my daughter will add to her list. Thank you for making my experience wonderful as well as peaceful.

My wife and I decided to take a trip to Dickson on her birthday weekend. We also had our son with us. The first store we stepped into was Reading Rock Books. We were greeted by the staff with warmth. I went one way and my and child went another. My child knocked on a door in the back of the store then went to the children’s section. Mind you my wife was with him the whole time. He was touching a shelf. Then all of a sudden the owner walked out of the back and asked my wife if she needed someone to parent our child. Those were her exact words. I could almost understand if my child was running wild all around the store. He wasn’t. He was supervised the entire time. That woman had no right to say what she did. We walked out as soon as she said that. And we will never go back. This woman clearly doesn’t know how to deal with children. And deal with people. If she had a softer tone. Then things would’ve been different. But she seems like a very cold person. By the way my wife is a teacher and definitely knows how to parent our child.

Just happened to be walking through downtown Dickson when I stumbled upon Reading Rock Books. They're more than a bookstore. They had gifts and even Tea! Who doesn't love sitting down to read a book with a cup of tea. The owner and staff were so welcoming and knowledgeable. You never know what you might find here. I can't wait to attend one of their events.

I first came to this independent bookstore to buy a baby shower book (they have a fantastic children's section, I especially recommend Marianne Richmond as gift books). This bookstore was a major bonus when I found a job in the area. Bookstores are the heartbeat of the city, and that is the case here. There are so many community events my husband and I love being part of. If you love to read, write, and are looking for a community of readers--take a stop by and say hi. The environment is cozy and warm and the people who work there are just as such!

I always come here when I am visiting my aunt. I am from California and I love used bookstores because I go through books very quickly. I told the owner that I had read all the books of “my authors” that she had in the used section. She asked who I liked to read and suggested a new author and found me one of his early books in His series. I had it read before I got home from my vacation and she was right! I liked him. Now I have a new author to collect and read through!!! She was sweet and helpful and especially knowledgeable about authors and topics!! Very impressive. And the store is a cute and welcoming place. I’ll be back!!
