Scrawl Books is a new independent bookstore in Reston, Virginia.Scrawl Books offers a thoughtful and relevant selection of new books for children, teens, and adults in a welcoming space where people can browse, gather, and explore new ideas. We support local literacy efforts and freedom of speech, and strive to reflect and contribute to the diversity of Reston and Herndon and the surrounding area. Owner Rachel Wood is a librarian and Reston resident with more than 20 years experience connecting books with people.

This was a great little indie bookstore. The staff was helpful and friendly. It was a bright and cheery place. The selection was good for the size of the store. The prices were what you would expect from an independent bookstore. The company aides the local library system in encouraging kids and adults to read, which is wonderful. They have teacher discounts which is kind as well. It was obvious from the first visit that they are community minded. I will return in the future.

A hidden gem in Reston Town Center! Perfect spot for finding special gifts-books, puzzles, and unique treasures. Staff is always warm and helpful. Love stopping in every time.

The salesperson was knowledgeable about the books I was looking for. The salesperson also escorted around the book store to show the variety of books at the store. The salesperson was friendly and professional. I would definitely shop there again.

It was a rainy, dreary day when I went searching for Scrawl Books (which if you’re having trouble finding them, definitely go to their Instagram for step by step instructions). Located in the Reston Town Center it is a cute little bookshop tucked away from the hustle and bustle of it all and it is definitely worth a stop. A great selection of a little of this and that and a sweet, friendly staff, stop by this cute independent bookstore and treat yourself!

I have visited this wonderful bookstore gem in Reston many times. Their bookshelves are literally overflowing with an amazing selection of titles in all genres. Even if they don’t have the book you need in the store, they offer free local delivery or affordable shipping to get your book to you. They offer a free and easy loyalty program that rewards you for all of your purchases. The staff are always pleasant and take time to understand your reading tastes and offer great reading suggestions. Most importantly, they have in-person author events with big names in literature, like TJ Klune! Their store is a little hard to find due to construction but they have adequate signs found near North Italia. I’m pleased that they still require masks for all patrons. You always feel safe and welcome at this independent bookstore.
