Side Quest Books & Games

I will admit, I have a bias as I did contribute to the indiegogo. But that was cause I fell in love with Sidequest when they were a pop-up! What the team has built is truly amazing and a testament to their care. The store layout is clear and there are helpful little notes from the staff about the books. Cozy and fantastical decor is throughout. I am usually buying dice or other TTRPG items, but the books selection is fantastic! The last two books I picked up I finished in a day or two, and I am not a reader by nature. And to me, the biggest reason you should go to Side Quest, the community. Not just the events, the actual people that show up in the store too. The impact this place has had on the neighborhood and its patrons, its immeasurable.

Best selection of rpgs ever!! This place is such a sweet escape, beautifully curated books and games and lots of queer joy and little notes sprinkled around the shop. I could spend hours and hours and hours in here !!!

It's such a beautifully curated space by a nerd for nerds but it's also deeply welcoming to people who are new to TTRPGs, Fantasy genres. The owner has taken an incredible amount of care to build a space that feels cozy and like a home-away-from-home tavern but it's a bookstore vibe. They have a calendar full of events appealing to various interests. Somerville is better for having this store in it's vicinity.

Did my first TTRPG session at Side Quest recently and had such a great time! Heather made the experience fun and welcoming, and I’m definitely looking forward to coming back for more.
