ocated in St. Paul, Minnesota's historic Union Depot, Story Line Books is the culmination of a lifelong dream. Equal parts bookworm and train enthusiast, owner Danielle uses the store to celebrate local authors, to encourage young people to read, and to provide entertainment for travelers of all kinds. The bookstore offers a selection of books of all genres, with perhaps more books about trains than in other bookstores.

Every time I visit a local book store I’m like, wow I love it here. I love books. I want all the things. You know the feeling? Well Story Line is no exception. There are several sections of thoughtfully curated books. When you first walk in you’re greeted with a section of St. Paul history, perfect for those visiting. Next there was an entire section for Halloween, a timely selection as I visited in October. There are weekly discussions or events for select books which you can find via the QR codes or on their website. Oh and a shop cat to keep you company. See, it’s a perfect place to spend some time and shop for yourself or gifts. Books, cards, postcards, magnets, and other souvenirs available in this cozy shop!

I'll be honest -- I'm not a big reader, but stepping into this quaint and charming bookstore inside the Union Depot made me want to pick up as many books as I could carry. I ended up with St. Paul: an Urban Biography by Bill Lindeke and The Small and Mighty by Sharon McMahon. I also received permission to photograph a sweet engagement session there with a couple of bibliophiles. I can't recommend this stop in St. Paul enough!

This place is amazing! The selection is wide yet precise...with a full assortment of reading material in an expansive space. Make this a must-stop in Lowertown...a bookstore with friendly, helpful people, big windows and a cat!
