We are a science-fiction/fantasy, independent bookstore and cafe, inclusive of all identities and imaginations! While we are booksellers of epic literature, we are also partnering with local friends, including Blue Copper Coffee, Ritual Chocolate and The Baking Hive, to serve artisan roasts, drinking chocolate, and culinary treats. We host tabletop role-play gaming (DnD and more), and are above all a safe space for all identities. Come world-build with us and join this gorgeous, nerdy community!

One of my favorite bookshops! The staff is always welcoming and knowledgeable. You can tell they’re passionate about reading and their community. There’s often groups of people reading together out front or inside and it gives you that friendly neighborhood vibe. Definitely recommend a visit if you’re a local or just passing through!

My favorite book and coffee shop! Did almost all of my holiday shopping here! Orion took great care to help me with a special order for a gift. I've gotten fantastic recommendations from them too! The staff are all so friendly and remember us every time we come in. The drinks are cleverly named and made with care! Just like they care for their community!

This place is an AMAZING gem- who doesn't love good ambience for their fantasy/sci-fi bookstore? And The Legendarium, with its cozy vibe, armchairs, coffee bar, swords mantel decor, solid wood tables, and bookshelves (of course), feels like the starting tavern for a quest... and your starting point turns out to be so welcoming that you just hang out with your fellow questers (and staff!) talking about books and drinking tea and coffee instead. Their selection of books is amazing and I have purchased some of my favorite books here- and if they don't have it, they'll get it for you! Serves delicious coffee, tea, and snacks, and skillfully-crafted items from indie makers are available here too. If I could give more than five stars I would!

One of THE most magical and whimsical bookstore / cafe’s in SLC. It’s cozy. It’s oozing warmth and welcoming vibes. It’s got its own section for LGBTQIA+ ROMANCE!!! So many items sourced from local artists, authors, and artisans. What a treat it is to find a place that feels so homey and inviting. They have all the niche literature for your most nerd-tastic fandoms. They even have an intentional space to congregate with friends and play games at their large table and super chunky chairs to sink into. The cafe has a highly curated and clever menu and is surrounded by the most darling trinkets for sale. (I’m a sucker for trinkets) Not to mention all the lovely decor that lines the walls. Even little hobbit hidey holes can be found, if you look. THEN you go upstairs to find a kid friendly room!?! Filled with the coziest books, toys, and a cute little nook to stay in a while. Fostering literacy for the future generations has always been a noble pursuit. Thank you for making space for the young minds. We are SO lucky to have a magical place like The Legendarium.

Starting off with the possible negative. It is small and a little hard to get around so it may make some feel a little claustrophobic. To me, it is way more of a cozy vibe, but if that's something that may bug you, give it a look before you commit. Not removing any stars for it because personally it didn't bug me. This is a safe space where the owners definitely care about their books. They were great with recoomends, both talking to them and in the store. They carry a great selection. Also there are other items like hand made jewelry. Unique coffee and tea blends, hot cocoa... It is all amazing. But aside from the good selection, the vibes are great too. Talking to the employees (I assume are the owners, but that is just an assumption) they are super lovely people. Keep in mind if you use Libro.fm to get your audiobooks, you can use it to support this shop as well if that is your thing. That's actually how I found out about this lovely place.
