The Lit. Bar opened its permanent doors on April 27, 2019 (National Indie Bookstore Day) and is currently the only brick & mortar bookstore serving the Boogie Down Bronx. Our venue encourages curious readers and welcomes literary and community gatheringswhile our wine bar connects the great pastimes of social sipping and introverted reading. What better way to loosen our tongues and talk about the books we love? We offer a carefully curated selection of general interest books, gift items, and programming which emphasize local interest and diversity for all ages.

Highly recommend this book store. I tried to upload the video of the inside. The inside is nice, beautiful, with a mix of culture and Bronx flavor. It makes you feel connected which makes this a unique book shop. It’s a chilled spot where you can read and purchase books. The environment is calm. Employees are nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. It brings out the beauty of The Bronx. Rich of culture and history. This is definitely a spot to check out.

The employees were really helpful and patient with me and my impulsive book buying, which I really appreciate! The bar was lively and looked like a fun place to have a book club meeting. I loved the selections of books, especially all the self-care books focusing on different communities, and the comic section that was super diverse as well. Definitely stop in and see them!

It is a sensational spot for wonderful books, delicious wine and a cozy environment. Its exquisite design and clever catalogue sets the tone for a chilling unforgettable moment either for grown ups or for children.

The atmosphere was inviting and relaxing and the staff was warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. I felt like I could easily spend hours there perusing the selections, thumbing through books of interest and "people watch" other patrons enjoying the displays. Definitely a returning customer and will continue to recommend it to others.

Black owned bookstore in the Bronx with a wine bar, ample seating, and access to WiFi. We were there for a little bit working on some stuff. They have a no-spill policy to all book browsing cannot happy near the wine bar and if you want to read them & eat/drink, books must be purchased first. The playlist that they have will legit make you want to stay there all night! Great date night spot, whether romantic or with friends. The service was good. The temperature was slightly challenging as there were moments when it was too warm, but it was the first warm day of the season! Definitely looking forward to returning & participating in some events.
