The purpose of The Literary Cat Co. is to bring book lovers and adoptable cats together in a peaceful, cage-free haven where cats can live their best lives while waiting for forever homes, and guests can curl up with a good book and a new friend. We feel it is our personal social responsibility to make the world more empathetic, curious, and compassionate starting with books and cats! In addition to a thoughtfully curated selection of new books in a variety of popular genres by a diverse collection of authors, visitors will find a unique assortment of independently-branded and small business-crafted gifts that are literary and/or cat themed. And, of course....CATS! Rescued, fully-vetted cats live their best lives here while waiting to be adopted into their furever homes. Why? Because we all deserve a new chapter!

I absolutely adored this store and loved seeing the compassion of the staff for their feline friends. I love their mission and what they do to help our community while supporting animals in need. The book selection was wonderful and the cats were very friendly. My kids had a great time and this was a great experience for everyone!

Fun and relaxing experience! I have visited Literary Cat Co. several times, and I always have a wonderful time! They have a wide variety of genres to appeal to all readers, they always greet you with a smile, and the cats are a fun touch! Their collaboration with local advocacy groups shows how they go above any beyond, helping to adopt cats to loving homes. 📚🐈⬛

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Literary Cat Co. is such a special spot! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the cats are absolutely adorable, and the whole place has the best cozy, feel-good vibes. The book and merchandise selection is perfectly curated—there’s something for everyone. Pittsburg is so lucky to have this little haven for book and cat lovers alike!

This teacher loves The Literary Cat Co.! This quaint little bookstore is a must visit in Pittsburg. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. The cats are well cared for and kind. I absolutely loved their children’s section.

This place is so adorable! The cats are so friendly and cute. The workers are very welcoming as well! Had a great time would definitely recommend!!!
