The Lynx

Almost every time I visit Gainesville to see my daughter at UF, I treat myself to a visit to Lynx on my way home. I love the inclusive spirit of their book selection, the unique puzzles and this time I bought two blind date books to share with friends. The children’s section is great as well. Booksellers are friendly and helpful.

Love this book store. Was happy to see they had some punk rock book talks during the fest this year. Hopefully they continue it next year. They have a little coffee bar and are super welcoming to everyone. Keep it up guys!

The Lynx’s presence in Gainesville has helped me fall in love with reading again 🥹 specifically it was picking up Lauren Groff’s “Florida” and reading the first chapter about living in Gainesville’s Duckpond neighborhood (as a former Duckpond resident myself.) Now I’m knee deep in Steinbeck’s East of Eden and blame it on the Lynx’s beautifully curated classics section. They’re truly the best. Thank you to The Lynx for all you do!

A good bookstore, especially an independent bookstore like The Lynx, is the beating heart of a community. I was so honored to have an author's event there and overwhelmed at the packed house of readers. "If you build it, they will come." Lauren and Clay have built a community treasure.
