A charming, independent bookstore housed in a unique community space filled with work from local artists, The Novel Neighbor is an endeavor thats been taking shape throughout my entire life. Raised in the close-knit city of Bardstown, KY just south of Louisville I discovered early on the value of reading, art, and gathering as a neighborhood. And Im thrilled to bring that energy and connectedness to Webster Groves, MO, a suburb of St. Louis. The Novel Neighbor is a unique concept and space that carries new adult and children's books, unique works from local artists (including our own artist(s) in residence). We offer an amazing community space for book clubs, classes, author events, after-school activities, tastings, parties, showers, and more! We also, include cozy areas for reading and a fantastic kids section with plenty of materials for little ones (and those grown) to read, experience, and explore.

I loved this bookstore! As an avid reader it had a little bit of everything: fiction, children’s section, an entire room devoted to books about romance, cute bookmarks and assorted gifts. I’m so glad I found it and hope to visit again sometime. There is free parking behind the store.

The Novel Neighbor is one of my favorite small businesses in St. Louis. The staff is always pleasant and well versed in all genres, Shelby was especially helpful with helping pick a sci Fi book. Absolutely worth a visit and support local!

The cutest little indie bookstore. Lots of genres available for all ages. A kids section room, a romance section room (with an entire section of autographed copies), a classics section and a ton of bookish merchandise! Highly recommend!

While out running errands I decided to look for a local bookshop nearby. The Novel Neighbor popped up. I arrived on a Saturday right at opening time. I did a quick tour around and thought how does no one know about this place?! How wrong I was. Within 5 mins the place was PACKED!! How did I not KNOW about this place?! The employees all just seemed like good friends and were very helpful when I couldn’t find my book. They even have a side just for romance 🙄🙄(🤣). I can’t wait until I go back. I’ll take my sister. She loves romance books.

The Novel Neighbor is a fantastic Indie Bookstore!! They have an amazing selection of books with great handwritten staff recommendation cards. The shop is filled with fun gifts for all ages while keeping books the focus. It is a fun, peaceful, and inviting atmosphere. Such a delightful stop on our Indie Bookstore date.
