Bay Books (MI)

Visited over the weekend with my book club. The shop owner Tina was the most wonderful and sweetest person. She took the time to help us pick out our next book and to chat with us all about our previous selections. The shop itself was beautiful and had wonderful displays. Thank you Tina, our book club loves you and your shop!! We hope to meet you again someday!

On a weekend girls trip my daughter and i were taking a ride through the peninsula. We happened upon this amazing little bookstore! A local author was signing her book (on the down-low 😂😂). I purchased a few books and had a great interaction with the owner! She gave me some solid recommendations from one of the authors i picked up. Loved my experience grabbed her card and will be looking her up in the future!

Wow. I’m a bookstore employee and I was shocked at the horrible service. I asked for travel guides and all I got was a blank stare and ‘No.’ I asked for travel memoirs. Another stare and ‘No.’ I was trained to always offer an alternative when we don’t carry a customer’s genre, and to actually get out from behind the desk and walk with the customer, pointing out possible alternatives. The store wasn’t busy. I was the only one in there! Independent bookstores’ livelihoods depend on excellent customer service.

Great selection. Staff can and will order books for you. Knowledgeable and helpful staff.
