Bear Pond Books (Montpelier)

They have their clearance and mark downs outside as you enter the building. When you walk in and look around, it's amazing! There are shelves and shelves of books, organized based on category and then alphabetical. The bottom floor is adults and the top floor is children. There's a "staff favorites" book table that if you purchase one from there, it gives you 15% off. The books seem to be about the same prices from what I noticed and buying from a littler shop makes it more special. I could have spent all day in here!

Lovely little shop! Everything was very organized and staff was helpful and friendly. The store was packed so I believe the word is out that it's worth a stop here! I initially had a hard time finding Star Wars books for my son since I didn't see a "SCI-FI" labeled section, but the two women at the register helped me right away; they weren't sure how large of a selection they had on hand, so they quickly looked up what was available in the store on their computer to make sure I wasn't going to go in search of them in vain. All of the used books are very easy to identify amongst the new books due to the small sticker on their spine, and the prices for the books we were looking for were cheaper here than another used bookstore we had stopped in earlier in the day. The second floor has a really great selection of children's/young adult books as well, my daughter had to be pulled away so we could go eat lunch!

This place makes you want to read more. They have a huge selection of books and a really cool children's section upstairs. It is amazing how many people come and go to this store. Amazon may have ruined a very good thing in American culture. Love this please.

If it’s not on their shelves, they’re happy to order. The children’s section will have just the right thing. Outside are the sale books.
