Founded in 1988, the Galaxy Bookshop is a proudly independent bookstore located in downtown Hardwick, Vermont. We focus on excellent customer service, a carefully curated selection featuring books of local interest and by local authors, and an atmosphere that welcomes and supports all reading tastes and all readers. Love this small book store right in the heart of Hardwick. Small amounts of every genre for everyone. A plus- they will order books for you which come in a timely manner. Neat little kids corner. Assortment of community activities go on in the store on a regular basis. Lots of gifts, games etc. A few chairs, a bench and bean bag chair to sit and read. Owners are community driven, and go above and beyond with customer service...and then there's their store mascot "Boo", he's very well mannered!

This is a great little shop! I stopped here and picked up Obama's memoir and grabbed a cute pin. The person working was friendly and helpful. There are safety protocols in place for Covid-19 and I felt totally comfortable there. Can't wait to visit again!

Absolutely adore this bookstore. I put in orders and they always arrive quickly. They give me a phone call whenever it's ready to pick up and are always so kind. They usually have some good recommendations for books to check out too. They also have an adorable selection of stickers, tiny cards, and various other little bits. I can't overstate how happy I am to have found this bookstore!
