Over the years I have bought items from the former Queens location to the present Brooklyn location. Items I have bought would have cost me a fortune elsewhere but Big Reuse is the most reasonable with the best quality of any thrift/antique store. As you can see in my pics, the REAL burled wood dresser with marquetry inlay-in perfect condition; the two historic Federal-styled yellow pine bookcases that I just bought-stunning! To top it off a great and helpful staff and the best store manager-Fred!-hands down my go-to for antiquing. You’ll never walk out without buying something-never!

I wish there was a rating for no stars because this place surely that type of rating . This place needs to be reported to the BBB ( better Business Bureau)) for unfair, pricing and unfair business practices. I’ve had the worst experiences going to the thrift store. Spoken to like a beggar after asking questions. My worst experience in the store was when I saw an item and asked for the young lady to pass it so I could purchase it. She told me that I have to wait as though I have to wait until she pleases herself, however for the fun of it, I waited and let her know that I was waiting till the item eventually she took the item not knowing that I was seeing her changed the price from $9.99 two49.99 not knowing that I saw what she did. I waited for like 10 more minutes. She brought the item over I said I saw you changed the price, why did you do that she said that it had the wrong price on it. I said to her when you looked at the price when I spoke to you about it and it was OK well, just to be spiteful. You went ahead and changed the price. She looked at me rolled her eyes, laughed in my face, mocked me along with her other coworkers.. I just don’t think that I place that operates from donations. should be able to be as manipulative as these girls were and I am gonna be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau.

I come here a few times a week to donate and to pick up some gently used items for myself and for family. I also find some food & water bowls for my stay cats that I look after. My only gripe is some of the visitors that make a mess for the staff to clean up. Don't give the staff extra work. Especially when some are volunteering.

this place may seem huge and intimidating, but take a minute to take it all in! maybe you don’t know what you want and that’s OK – that’s exactly why you should look around. lots of clothes, tons of books, lots and lots of chairs and miscellaneous furniture (filing cabinets anyone?) I picked up $2.49 frames for pictures, and then I couldn’t resist picking up two books, that I really need to read: The Power Broker and my Brilliant Friend. cashier couldn’t have been funnier, she had me in stitches. Bring a portable fan as I did, and it’s worth the summer adventure and the trek. (by the way: it’s literally right next to Lowe’s, by the parking lot on the East side entrance (not the entrance closest to the subway.)

When we moved to a smaller apartment, I started looking for places to donate a lot of goods. The Big Reuse was so much fun to walk around! My middle schooler had tagged along to a bunch of shops, wanting to see weird things, and that never happened until we hit Big Reuse. So many ideas for what could become props and set pieces. I look forward to visiting again
