A gem of an indie! Always a great selection of books for all ages, fun gifts (my girls love the journals!), and the best windows for display. We always take advantage of the post-Thanksgiving shopping holiday to stock up on books for gifting at Christmas (I get to support a local independent bookstore and don't have to worry about shipping, my mom can pick up the wrapped gifts and pop them under the tree) and for my nieces' birthdays. Love the Something's Amiss puzzles for family gatherings;) Also a fan of the work of the Oneota Valley Literacy Foundation!

Such a cute little store with lots of selections in both local and more well-known literary work. There are also lots of books by authors of colour! The owners are so nice (and they sell cards made with their own photography). I definitely recommend stopping by here if you visit Decorah!

I love this bookstore so much. I always get good recommendations from the staff, check out the sale boxes of kids books in the back and they have interesting rotating displays and current new releases. They also have a great selection of little gifts like stickers, journals and other novelties. I get gift cards for everyone at the holidays.

This may be my favorite independent bookstore in the country. Their selection is incredible and I always find something great here, and the owner is so kind and knowledgeable, great to speak with. We’ve been going here as part of our book club with our niece for the last two years and love making that a tradition. Love your local bookstore!

Super cute small-town bookstore with a pretty good selection of books! The staff weren't very kind though and not what I would expect from a small town. My daughter and I are touring indie bookstores each winter and we went to Decorah specifically for the bookstores. We bought $70 worth of books but when we asked to use the bathroom they wouldn't allow it. She also kept asking if we needed help -- and not in a kind way but more in assumption that we were stealing or something. And then she had the nerve to hand us a pamphlet on information of how to buy and ship to our house after our purchase -- like I'd go out of my way to buy from them when I couldn't even use their restroom after a 1.5 hour drive.... Lol! 🤣
