Criminally underrated! A quaint gem on an otherwise bustling street. Stumbled upon this book store at 9 PM on a Wednesday. Excellent curation covering gender, sexuality, queer identity, race, music, NOLA history, labor, politics, community and so much more, with plenty of art! Good for gifts.

Accidentally stumbled on this cozy little gem, and when I tell you I could have spent hours in there, I mean it. As tourist and small-town local author, I totally nerded out in the local author section, bought 4 books, and eagerly had them all stamped. I thought the staff was chill, and the atmosphere was great. If I lived in their time zone, I’d 10/10 want a job there. Huge props for an absolute highlight of my NOLA adventure!

Amazingly good curation of quality books! Every time I go there I find a book I didn’t know I needed. It must be very hard to run such an impeccably clean establishment on a street where the majority of people are drunk. Frenchmen Art & Books helps make Frenchmen’s Street one of the greatest little streets in America: great music, great drinks, great artists market, great record store and a great bookstore! ❤️

I popped into this store with my dad back in November. New Orleans has always been like a second home to me, and Frenchman Street is very near and dear to my heart. I only had about 3 hours to spend, and I spent a good 45 minutes of it here. I had several books shipped out. When there was a shipping delay, they sent me a gift (a beautiful little blue tote) with my books in an apology—and I’d just like to say it’s these little things that really matter. I hope your little shop continues to thrive, continues to keep whatever rules they want, and stays true to the rich soul of Louisiana literature. I am so grateful I got to spend those 45 minutes inside your store! My dad would agree!
