In September I walked into this delightful book shop on a day trip To Friday Harbor. I was in search of a book title by a local author. When she explained they were out but waiting on a delivery. She took my contact info and promised to call. They made good on that promise. And my copy arrived yesterday. Wow. The customer service is rated the 5 stars. And the inventory and ambiance deserves another 5 stars. Thank you.

Bright, busy, quaint, and easy to find, once you cross the threshold, this place will hold you hostage for the next few hours! Just blocks from the Ferry dock, come in here after that delicious Americano you just consumed, totally caffeinated and ready for your next imaginary adventure! A must stop while you're here visiting Friday Harbor. Plenty of inventory for all types of genres, a wonderful children's section, a nice little cafe in the back upstairs, games, puzzles...and poof💥 2 hours gone! I scored a new release of a Tom Hanks Novel, (hardback mind you), and the price point was fair...so I bought it! Support locally! Highly recommend you carve out some of your valuable visiting time to stop in here!

Gorgeous quiet place for anyone inclined enjoying an intellectual environment while escaping the regular tourist onslaught...I mean arrivals. THE CAFE IS INSIDE the bookstore at the BACK! See? When you use Google map, that's how you can find this hidden gem and getting to have nice quiet time sipping your coffee and pastry while laughing at other tourist for rushing and queuing up in other places!

The tiny cafe tucked away in the back of the Griffon Bay Bookstore is a perfect spot to stop for a cup of coffee, delightful pastry, and a bit of quiet. Take your latest book or magazine purchase to one of the small tables to read and sip, or contribute to the community puzzle in progress. Great stop on your Friday Harbor retail journey!

A fine bookstore, but they only want you to read books you bought in their store at the Cafe. That's pretty annoying. If I'm buying something from the Cafe then I will read what I want.
