Half Price Books Cedar Rapids

This store is now regularly on my errands list to pick up more reading material. I am a fast reader (1/day) so I go through a stack of books very quickly. Nice selection that changes daily and offers buyback of all books, music and games.

Great place to shop but don’t bother selling here. I brought 30 books, including a full set of the 1800s pictorial edition of Shakespeare writings, and for all of it they offered me $14. This was after I had waited 30 minutes to hear the offer. I wasn’t expecting a great price but somehow they managed to go below my already low expectations. I don’t even know how they get the numbers that they do. I tried asking what the offer would be if I took my Shakespeare books home and he said it was a group bundle. Nothing could be separated. I’m just taking my stuff to Goodwill next time, because this was genuinely such an insulting experience. I don’t think I’ll be back.

Review is of the vinyl section and staff/store, but not taking books into account. Was able to find some great marked down blues albums that were sealed. They're rereleases I'd been seeing, but I was able to get them for half off. I know that's the name of the place, but these actually were half off, and most of the vinyl isn't usually. As usual, I ended up buying as many records here as any of the stores in the area. Half price books is getting good for new sealed rereleases of vinyl. Staff were very friendly, helpful, and not bothersome. Store is clean and pretty conveniently located. I went as a destination early in my trip and have passed it now multiple additional times in my travels this trip. Good place, I preferred them to the analog vault, and would go here for records over any other place in the area.

Phenomenal store, staff and selection! So many books, sections and areas to explore! Nice well kept and impeccably cleaned business with wonderful assistance, if needed! Check out was quick and easy and quite crowded, but, went quickly! The employees are top notch and as friendly as can be! Nice job!
