I have sold things here a few times and the employees are always doing their best to get through everyone quickly. Usually, I know I will be there for at least an hour if I’m selling, so take note! I was really surprised by the cashier today who checked me out; his login on my receipt says it was JCarr116. I found a movie we’d been looking to buy for a long time for $10, but I had my baby in a carrier on me so I neglected to check the condition of the disk. The cashier looked at it very carefully and noticed a larger crack in the center of the disk, which he showed me. Without my asking, he discounted the disk to $2 and gave me some advice on how to fix it if I wanted to, but also told me to keep the receipt in case I needed to return. We are watching the movie now with no issue; I don’t think I would’ve returned it anyway at such a great price. But I’m so grateful that that employee did that! We live a good ways away and it would have been a hassle to return it if it had been damaged and we’d paid full price. Such good customer service!

I used to love half Price books I would visit the stores in Cincinnati to bowling Green and Lexington and Louisville in between. I like the coziness and ambiance so much more than the large box bookstores. however, after my experience last week at the Nicholasville Road location, it's off the list of places to go. Let me be clear, I love books. I could probably install shelves in my home and call it a pop-up bookstore. When I go in to Half Price Books I purchase a lot. One of my guilty pleasures is the clearance section. Specifically The cookbook section. For reasons that the staff and other customers also can't understand, the current manager decided to do away with the cookbook section and interspersed those books amongst all the other topics. Because I'm there so much, people who work there remember my face and I feel comfortable because I also remember them. I shared with them that this really was off-putting and even pointed out that I left with only one book. They shared with me that many others had stated they didn't like the change and complain about it and even the staff said they didn't agree with it. When that's the feedback customers and staff are sharing you would think a manager would listen. Not here, not in this location. He's sticking to whatever his logic is and ignoring the consumers. Moving forward I will be ignoring this store.

We had a fun visit! First time in and enjoyed looking at all the books. Great prices! Loved looking through the large selection of clearance books! My favorite were the fancy cover books. I had never seen these before. Can’t wait to add more to my collection.

This a lovely giant book store where they sell books, stationary and toys for great prices. I got happily lost in books while browsing in here for hours! This store is located in a large outlet, so there is plenty of free parking right in front of it. There are sections for all book genres imaginable, a stationary section, a toy section, a CD and record section, and a movie section. Things are fairly priced here and they have so many options to choose from! I got a cute little book called “100 Ghosts” which features just that: a gallery of 100 harmless haunts. Best $3 purchase I’ve ever made! I definitely recommend this book store for great deals on endless stories!

There are two locations in Lexington and they are both worth a look. All of their items are well organized and easy to browse and their prices are great. I don't always buy something, but I always enjoy the hunt at Half Priced Books!
