Over the last six months I have found 7 gift books (out of the 12 purchased) from this bookshop. Yes there are other bookshops anywhere you go but sometimes there's one place that has a little bit of magic and you keep finding the right books for the right people whenever you pop in. This is that place for me. They have calendars by The Group of Seven, they have first editions and they have great secondhand finds, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and they gift wrap. It's easy and pleasant to spend a time browsing here. #dwntwneug

The people at J Michaels Books were so helpful and our little dogs were welcome! They were so kind and they gave the pups were given a tasty treat. There were new and quality used books in the store. We very much pleased to find this gem of a bookstore and we are spreading the word with our friends and family

DON'T COME HERE. The owner gave me $15 for a book that was worth $300 and he said that was the 'best I could do'. I did not know how valuable the book was at the time. Additionally, the books here are overpriced. If you go to practically any other book store in Eugene, the books will be more affordable.

I usually enjoy supporting this bookstore but my experience yesterday was disappointing. I was stared at and followed, I wasn't greeted upon arriving and I had to initiate the greeting myself. Even then, I wasn't asked whether I needed help finding anything. I'm not sure I'll return.

This business is located in the historic Quackenbush Hardware Store Building which was opened in 1903 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. This is a cool looking Building and a must see.
