Magic City Books

Great selection of books and other book-related memorabilia (shirts, bookmarks, themed pouches, stickers, etc.)! An even better sitting area in the back to begin to read/sort through all of your books. They do have bathrooms for customers and great friendly staff as well! If I lived in the area, I’d come here more often but this makes me wish we had a place like this [in Colorado Springs].

Thoughtfully curated selections, a strong focus on local and diverse voices, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stay and browse for hours. The staff are knowledgeable and clearly passionate about books—they’re always ready with a great recommendation or to help you find exactly what you’re looking for. Events here are top-notch too. From author talks to community gatherings, they’ve made this more than just a bookstore—it’s a true cultural hub in Tulsa. Whether you’re a hardcore reader or just looking for a unique gift, Magic City Books is a must-visit.

I love that Magic City gets to host so many great events. I don’t live close enough to attend, but it is nice they bring people to Oklahoma. I love their recommendations. I do agree though, with the comment below, that out of every bookstore I have been to, this one is the least friendly. I wasn’t greeted or acknowledged the 30-45 min I was in the store. I was by the cashier looking at signed books and I made comments to him, and he nodded, basically. He never asked if he could help me or any of the other people who came in the store while I was there. I have been to this one 3-4 times and I am not sure I have ever had a great experience (other than the selection). I love how they feature Oklahoma authors.

Great bookstore. Stopped in to pick up a new book while on an overnight trip. Too many options. Ended up with a couple. 😁 Friendly staff. Look forward to visiting again on the next trip!
