We kept complaining that there wasn't a bookstore in our neighborhood, so we opened one! Whitty Books opened in July 2018, and we are so proud and happy to have brought an indie bookstore to the historic Kendall Whittier District of Tulsa, OK. Victoria curates our collection, with a focus on small publishing houses, diverse titles, genre fiction, #ownvoices authors, under-the-radar releases, and anything else that catches her eye. Julian can be found doing some writing of his own and is our jack-of-all-trades when it comes to live music and shows. We love to schedule all kinds of events; from workshops and readings to live music and book clubs, we're pretty much game for anything.

What a fun book store! Looks like they have a really great selection. If I had to put my finger on the store’s taste it would be fantasy and fiction. They have kids books as well! If you’re in the Kendall Whittier District definitely stop in and say hey, ya never know what treasure you’ll find.

I visited to see the bands Reliquario and Aluna Crypt play. While in between sets, I took the opportunity to browse the small but carefully curated collection: a mix of mainstream titles and indie releases. I made a small purchase and I plan to return to this gem of a bookstore!

Support local independent bookshops!!!!Perfect stop on a rainy afternoon. Beautifully curated selection of books, puzzles, and tarot. Tables set up in the rear for sewing classes. Very knowledgeable and patient staff. Was one of my fun stops in my tour of the Kendall Whittier neighborhood!

Fantastic little shop. They ordered books online for us during the pandemic and we finally visited in person today. Very cozy little spot to stop in for your latest read. We also stopped over for the Really, Really Free Market and got some sweet gift economy deals.
Independent bookshops are the heart of local communities. Visit, shop, and help keep them thriving!
