Lovely local bookstore with a fantastic selection of books about Seattles Chinatown, Asian American stories, local artists, and cookbooks. Sokha the owner was so warm and friendly. Coming into the store feels like entering a warm friendly gathering in someone’s home. I felt so welcomed and invited. If you’re ever in the area, I strongly recommend you check the store out and browse the selection of books. There’s something there for everyone :) Additionally, the store serves coffee. I loved the Hing Hay Holiday coffee. The iced orange flavored cream on top was so refreshing and tasty. I loved how well the flavors complimented each other. The sweet citrus aroma was so nice.

Literally THANK YOU mam's bookstore for just being a gem of the community. The owner brews a mean cup of coffee (normally I don't take my coffee unsweetened but this was so smooth that I didn't mind at all) and is super friendly. He'll let you do impromptu karaoke with the store speakers and is very attentive. Yall gotta visit this place for the drinks, atmosphere, culture and knowledge sharing.

An Unexpected Gem That Nourishes the Soul (Even if You Skip Lunch!) We were just cruising through the International District looking for a bite when the restaurant waitlist got the best of us. So, we wandered and wow, did we stumble into something magical. Mam’s Bookstore isn’t just a bookstore… it’s a full-blown heartbeat of the community. Right as we walked in, we were greeted not just by shelves of thoughtfully curated books, but by the sound of story time in Cantonese! That’s right—Cantonese. As a parent raising bicultural kids, I nearly teared up. This place doesn’t just sell books—it celebrates identity, language, and heritage in the most welcoming way possible. You can tell the folks behind Mam’s books are on a mission. They’re building something far beyond a storefront—they’re building a village. A safe, vibrant space where stories from across Asia come to life, and where our young ones are gently nudged into a lifelong love of reading. My boys loved it so much they forgot all about lunch—they just wanted to stay and read more books. That says it all. If you're ever near Seattle’s International District, do yourself a favor and stop by. Whether you're here for the incredible selection of diverse children's books, or just need a reminder that community still exists —Mam’s Books is it. We’ll be back. Often. 💛

These guys were so awesome!! My friend and I were tourists visiting the city and we came when they were closed, but they saw us through the window and offered to let us have a quick look. My friend and I really appreciate the kindness you showed us that day! I’ll be telling everyone to visit when they go to Seattle but I’ll make sure they know what your hours are before they do though. Lol

Just found the coziest little Asian American owned bookstore, and I’m already obsessed! As soon as I walked in, the owner greeted me with a warm welcome and even gave me a tour of the space. The selection of books by Asian American authors was incredible, so many great titles I can’t wait to dive into. The whole experience was amazing, and you can tell they really care about what they’re curating. Definitely coming back! 10/10 would recommend!
