I LOVE visiting book stores when I travel. I love it even more when the stores are like Old Firehouse and have a good assortment, and make wonderful recommendations (thanks Ali!). I highly recommend.

Old Firehouse Books is my favorite book store in the region. The building is so beautiful (looks like an old firehouse!), the selection of books is expansive, the staff are knowledgeable, professional, and friendly, and the cozy atmosphere is ideal for book lovers. If there’s a book you’d like that isn’t on the shelves, they’ll order it for you to pick up in store or ship. Also, in the middle of the store, there’s a table with humor books and creative, clever books. I’ve found some unique gifts for friends on that table. That’s a fun area to browse! The book store is connected (indoors) to a local tea shop so people can get some nice things there before or after shopping. Definitely recommend checking it out!

One of my favorite shops in Old Town and my favorite bookstore. They host book clubs (which I've gone to a few times) and make it easy to find the books for the meetings in the store. The staff is so friendly and helpful and the store is decorated beautifully.

This is an awesome local bookstore with a surprising amount of selection! The shelves kept going back and back and the store was well organized by genre.

We had the pleasure of visiting the store for the first time on Pride night last week. What a wonderful place! My four year old and I went with some friends and found some great LGBTQ representative books. Friendly and helpful employees as well. We definitely will go back!
