How can we promote culturally responsive practices and ensure our babies are empowered citizens through the art of storytelling? Rohi's Readery serves as a space to build community. To be Seen. Valued. Loved. Belong. And to live your Unapologetic Truth. Where adults and children are co-constructors of learning and knowledge. We like to think of it as cultivating the genius that is already within our littlest ones. We provide live and virtual "Revolutionary Storytime and Activist Learning" experiences, family literacy support and content through our Readery Resource hub, monthly free educational programming classes, educational consulting services (check out our services tab), highlight authors and illustrators of the Global Majority, and ensure that every community member we come into contact with is heard. Communities that have been historically marginalized deserve spaces to honor, celebrate and acknowledge the history of the past and what's to come of the future.Located on stolen ancestral Seminole and Tequesta land. The Readery makes this acknowledgment to remind ourselves that, by being here today, we strive to remedy this injustice through our beliefs and actions in rooting content in anti-racist work and disrupting colonized pedagogies.

Today I visited Rohi’s Readery for the first time and fell in love! I immediately felt at home in this Rosemary Square shop that’s part cozy, colorful, children’s book shop; part arts/sensory activity spot. She has a drawing/coloring station, a reading nook lined with pillows and stuffies and a fantastic selection of children’s books; from board books to chapter books. My 7yr old and I browsed for books and at 5pm kids of all ages sat around craft tables and made ‘Sensory Jars’. Picture mason jars filled with half oil/half water and loads of glitter; that look like tiny lava lamps. All of the children and parents were lovely and the shop owner conducted the little craft class like a seasoned kindergarten teacher; she was incredible with the kids! My daughter and I both picked out books and stickers, and had a wonderful experience.

A great bookstore for kids and adults! The books Pranoo sells are beautiful, empowering, and inclusive. While it’s mostly for kids, I enjoy the reads and find a sense of belonging when there. Pranoo also offers free community programming for adults and children, and I host creative writing and healing workshops there once a month. Free for the community AND she pays me - great model. The Square needed something like this!

We visited this shop all the way from Canada after reading great things about it online and it did not disappoint! We found the bookstore to be so vibrant in energy and intention. The amount of diverse stories and representation was refreshing and very well thought out. We cant wait to be back!
