Rooted MKE is a BIPOC centered, children's bookstore and literacy exploration space. We feature seasonally curated collections of books for youth ranging from 0-16 years old and offer small group exploration courses where youth can learn a new skill in community with others. We also offer small group and one on one private tutoring and academic support sessions taught by BIPOC educators and industry professionals.

A wonderful place for books! I wandered in not totally realizing it was a children's book shop (listen, I saw books and ran!). Such a charming store with friendly folks. They have tons of children's books, fiction and nonfiction, as well as activity books and toys. There's even a section of literature for adults. There's something for everyone here! Keep your eye out for events, too! I hear they're planning something special for Clifford the Big Red Dog's birthday (February 14!). I did not catch the gentleman's name but he was so sweet and even had me leaving with the most adorable tote and some candy buttons. Please go visit!!! 💛📚

We absolutely adore this little bookstore. They have a wonderful selection of children’s and young adult books and toys. If they don’t have something in stock, they will order it just for you! They can even order adult books as well. The owners are always incredibly kind. My kids find new treasures and an increased love of books and reading every time we stop in!

Very cute children's bookstore with a great selection of books and cozy atmosphere. They were very helpful and kind to the children. The mural on the side of the building is amazing! Definitely recommend
