Incredible gem, I wish there were a million of these specialized bookstores each covering a different topic. You can tell that the selection of books was expertly and passionately curated. All aspects of building, making, and crafting were covered. There were also a few crafts from local artists on the display shelves. They didn’t just sell books on timber framing, they clearly used those techniques when crafting the beautiful shelves near the door and the one holding the finishes.

Summer Beam Books is absolutely the most charming, interesting and diverse bookstore I have ever seen. The decor is so inviting and beautiful. The owner selects such an interesting selection of books for everyone (building techniques, various crafting books, children's section, woodworking, architecture, historical logging, gardening, sustainable living, cookbooks, etc.) that you can find most anything of interest. The bookstore also has very clever and beautiful items for gifts (notebooks, amazing cards, puzzles, toys, felted animals, handmade cutting boards, baskets, seasonal holiday gifts and much more). I absolutely love Summer Beam books and highly highly recommend you take a visit. They also have everything shown on their website so you can order online and get your items delivered via the Postal Service.

I was looking for a book that is almost certainly out of print. Their site said it was available so I called all the way from Texas. Nicest woman in the world answered and double checked it for me. When it got here it looked amazing. Can't wait to dig into this gem.

This gem of a bookstore offers an incredible selection of books covering a wide variety of topics such as cooking, building with wood, bee keeping 🐝 and much more. Buy local and support this beautiful bookstore run by a very knowledgeable woman.

What an amazing little book store! I wish I could buy every book on the shelves! Their web site states, "Books for builders, makers, dreamers, doers." How true is that! If you have the least interest in craftsmanship, woodworking, timber framing, homesteading, etc. this is the book store for you! What I particularly appreciate about Summer Beam Books is the care and effort put into selecting the books. Yes, I could do an internet search, but it is so much more helpful and enjoyable to stroll through the store, scan the shelves, and see so many amazing books all selected and collected together in one place! In addition there are amazingly high quality items crafted out of wood also available for purchase. The wooden spoons are amazing. There are also interesting wood-related items for sale as well e.g. a curious puzzle inspired from the wood grain from rounds of wood. This little place is amazing! Check it out!
