The Book Wyrm began when a passion for books collided with the desire for community. Founders Amber and Daniel noticed that though they lived in one of the biggest cities in the country, there were so few places to gather and connect with their community. Amber, specifically, has always felt bothered by the decline of third spaces in the nation as a whole. Third places are essential for empathy, culture, connection, and most of all a sense of community. With the COVID pandemic, the rise of social media and online spaces, and the rise of corporations like Amazon, small community establishments have fallen away, further emphasizing division and isolation. We believe it is essential to the American culture that people have space to gather and commune with each other. We want to create a space where our community can engage and strengthen their bonds with one another. Though were a small venture now, we hope that with the support of our community, well be able to grow to support this dream.

This is a beautiful and serene getaway in the busyness of Cinco Ranch. They have a wide selection from children’s books, middle grades, and beyond. There are so many events and the owners are incredibly kind! Do yourself a favor and pop in for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and a good read!

The most fabulous bookstore! I live in Houston proper and drive the 30+ minutes to it. The owners are so wonderful and you can tell they are so inspired and love what they do! It permeates throughout the store. I love that they've added a wine and coffee element; it invites people to come and stay for awhile. This has only been open for a little over a month and it already has such a strong community presence and feel. This is the coziest corner! 10/10 recommend! (PS If don’t have something in stock, they’ll order it for you.)

What a lovely, cozy, well-curated, independent bookstore! They offer places to sit and socialize with a glass of wine or cup of coffee. Had a lovely conversation with the co-owner Stephanie about the inspiration for the store, and the store's name, and just had a really great time chatting while my family collected their books to buy. I am so glad this brand new bookstore is doing well and look forward to visiting again.

My family and I had a great time here at this new local book store during their opening event! What a great addition to the neighborhood, tons of choices, local vibe and my kids picked out two books each.
