H&H Books (formerly The Head & The Hand Books) is a community-focused bookstore run by a nonprofit publisher. We opened our storefront in the East Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia in May 2019 and provide curated frontlist fiction and nonfiction, a local lit shelf, and childrens/middle grade books. We host readings, workshops, childrens programming, including free story time, and much more! We are steadily incorporating used titles into our collection and are able to fulfill direct-to-home orders through our distributor.

We had a great time at our private date night here! It was so fun eating dinner and browsing the store by (fake) candlelight. The booking instructions were super clear and it was easy to pick a time online. Highly recommend for a cute night out!

My husband & I did their “Bookshop Date Night” and it was amazing! The shop is set up beautifully with flameless candles, dim lighting, and music to create such a romantic atmosphere. We were able to browse & read books together with the shop entirely to ourselves. Highly recommend for a unique date night!

A wonderful addition to Philadelphia's small Bookshop scene. This brand new bookstore offers great choices of brand new books, including some Niche fiction and nonfiction that Philadelphia's can appreciate (as well as others). There are also many Used Books available for discounted rates

The absolute cutest date night experience. My husband loves book stores and this was a great surprise birthday gift. Emerson (I hope I got the name right) was super sweet. Having a custom playlist and books selected for us was also adorable. 10/10 recommend.

We stopped by and had the whole bookstore to ourselves. It was an amazing romantic experience. My wife and I had time to type love letters to each other on a typewriter. We had a blast and will be back our nice time in town.
