The Lazy Daisy Bookshop

The Lazy Daisy Bookshop was a lovely store with both new and used books, as well as a coffee shop! I had a dirty soda that was amazing, and they have a really fun menu of drinks! The Lazy Daisy is a women-owned business that supports local vendors and authors. They sell much beyond just books! I enjoyed looking through the bookish products including candles, stickers, jewelry, bookmarks, and more! -1 star because the store emphasized the romantasy genre, and not much outside of that. While I do appreciate that they found their niche, I just personally enjoy seeing more variety in bookstore selections. All that to say, I will definitely be back and will be taking my friends there!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Lazy Daisy Bookshop in Jacksonville, North Carolina, is a nice addition to the area, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The location is convenient, with food options and a major retail store nearby, which makes it easy to visit. However, the shop itself felt a bit underwhelming. Most of the books available are brand-new releases, which is great for those looking for the latest titles, but I was hoping to find a wider variety of classic books as well. The space inside is somewhat crowded, and I think a remodel could really improve the layout and make it feel more inviting. For a bookstore, I would have loved to see a broader selection of books and book-related purchases. One thing that stood out to me was the lack of a small café or self-serve coffee/hot cocoa stand. Having a cozy corner with drinks and snacks would have added to the charm and made it a more enjoyable experience. While I was really excited for the shop to open, I left feeling a little disappointed. That said, it’s still a nice spot, and I hope they continue to grow and improve. With a few changes, The Lazy Daisy Bookshop could truly become the welcoming, diverse bookstore I envisioned.

The Lazy Daisy Bookshop is such an amazing and relaxing place to visit. The atmosphere is warm and whimsical, with a great mix of books and handmade local gifts. The staff were friendly and truly cared about helping me find something I would enjoy reading. I loved seeing their flyers for author events and promotions of local vendors. A great stop for any reader or local shopper.

I’ve followed The Lazy Daisy Bookshop on social media before they had a stationary location, and finally visited them this weekend. The store feels special. It feels very boutique, very much a vibe I don’t expect to find in Jacksonville, but maybe in Wilmington, Raleigh, etc. Heart and soul were put into this store and it shows. There are beautiful special editions, an extensive selection of current and older used books (I didn’t even realize the book I chose was used, it was in perfect condition), and fun bookish merch. What impressed me the most was when I asked the employees if they happened to know if a book only had a sequel or was the beginning of a series, they knew, and not only did they know, they showed me everything they had relating to the book and even recommended a read alike. Not everyone who works in a bookstore is going to be a reader, but it really feels nice to be helped by someone who is knowledgeable and understands your excitement. It will absolutely not be as long before my next trip!
