A great local bookshop! Staff is friendly and willing to help. It has a great collection for its size and they're often rotating new books through. If they don't have it they can get it ordered for you and nearly always in a timely matter. And you don't pay for shipping, all without a prime membership!

Bookstores are places of pilgrimage for me. Third Street books has been in business for a long time, and according to the very helpful staff person, it has been under present ownership for around 20 years. My photos show the diversity of the offerings. It has a good feel to it, and would be fine place to drop in while you are enjoying downtown McMinnville.

We have always enjoyed this bookstore and the cute kids corner in the back. However today we visited with our two young children. My 4 year old was picking out books and taking them into the little “fort” to read. She grabbed one that looked a little ominous on the cover but I (naively) let her look through it as it was displayed face-out among many other adorable/beautiful picture books for young children. When I sat down to read it with her and looked through the pictures she was looking at, I felt my stomach drop and was shocked and absolutely disturbed that that book was on display in this section of the store. The images in it were absolutely frightening for a 4 year old and even unsettling for myself as an adult. When my daughter handed me the book she burst into tears because she was so upset by the images in it. I am so disappointed in Third Street Books for not only displaying, but recommending this book on a lower level shelf in an area toddlers are encouraged to read in (the early readers section). The book was “The Invisible Parade”.

Loved this bookstore! The woman running the place is amazing! Nicely curated selection and loved the comments staff made on cards for the book recommendations

Amazing book selection and adorable spot. We stopped in here while waiting for our table across the street for breakfast. I love when stores have staff feedback and notes on books they love and this store had a lot of that!
