Great first time! Cute little store with an awesome selection. Lots of stickers, bookmarks and miscellaneous bookworm gifts. The clerk working was super helpful and personable; I bought two recommendations she gave me. Prices are very reasonable and the books are new or like new condition. Added bonus that the kids room has a reading/coloring area.

I visited Thistle & Nightshade recently and was really impressed. The shop is cozy, beautifully curated, and full of books you don’t always find in bigger stores. I picked up a few of my favorite titles and loved how easy it was to browse without feeling rushed. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help when I had questions. It’s a great spot for unique reads and a relaxing bookstore experience. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Hidden nook Fun intended F a sPoIlEr 😂 What follows is not my story but hope, it finds it way into the store. The Prism Legion. Elite heavy-world shock troops. They weren't standard facility security hired to check badges; they were walking tanks deployed when you wanted a localized rebellion crushed before lunch. That explained the quick response time and the aggressive posture. They weren't here to arrest; they were here to neutralize. Grey kept his face neutral, though his pulse kicked up a notch. He glanced down at Dot. The whining screech of her cutting tool against the concrete ceased instantly. In the sudden, suffocating silence of the small room, the shuffling boots and heavy breathing of the squad outside the metal door were audible. Dot remained crouched by the half-cut hole, her armored form still as a statue, but her helmet was tilted toward him. Waiting for the signal. "Prism Legion," Grey said into the open comm, injecting a note of bored impressiveness into his voice. He needed Wedge angry, impatient, and focused entirely on the sound of his voice. "Awfully big hammer for two little nails, Sergeant. Didn't realize our reputations preceded us quite that strongly. I’m almost flattered." "Save the speeches for the tribunal, Grey," Wedge snapped. The man sounded young, eager for a win, and entirely too confident in his numerical superiority. An impatient commander makes mistakes. "You have ten seconds to open this door, slide your weapons out, and come out with your hands clasped behind your heads. If you don't, we blow the door and turn that room into a kill box. Ten. Nine..." Grey muted his external comm with a tap and looked at Dot. He held up three fingers, then two. Plan B wasn't subtle. Plan A had been stealth, finesse, getting in and out before anyone realized the cookie jar had been raided. Plan B was shock and awe. It was the reason you brought a Crest knight to a burglary. "Bones," Grey murmured into their secure team channel, praying the hacker was still monitoring despite the facility-wide power outage. "If you can hear me, drop the localized sonic dampers. Full gain on Dot's emitters. We're going loud." A sharp static hiss in his ear piece was the only reply, but Grey took it as an acknowledgement. The air in the small room suddenly felt charged, heavy with ozone and static pressure. The faint, passive glow around the edges of Dot’s heavy armor intensified from a soft hum to a vibrant, oscillating thrum that made Grey’s teeth ache. "...Six. Five. Four..." Wedge counted down outside, his voice vibrating through the metal door. Grey stepped behind Dot, placing a steadying hand on her armored shoulder. He could feel the immense power coiling inside the suit, waiting for release. He drew his own sidearm, a heavy-caliber kinetic pistol that felt woefully inadequate against Prism armor, but it would have to do. "Show them why they should've sent the whole damn legion, partner," Grey whispered. Dot stood up. The concrete dust around her boots puffed outward in a perfect ring. "Three. Two—" "Now," Grey said. He didn't wait for them to blow the door in. He kicked the locking mechanism hard at the exact moment Dot unleashed a concussive wave of pure, directional kinetic energy straight at the entryway. The metal door didn’t just open; it disintegrated, ripped from its frame and turned into lethal shrapnel flying outward into the corridor. The blast was deafening, a physical punch that rattled Grey’s ribcage even behind Dot's protective shield. Screams and the dense crunch of impact echoed from the hallway. Grey didn't hesitate. He surged forward into the smoke and dust, using Dot’s armored bulk as cover, stepping over the twisted wreckage of the door and the stunned forms of the two point men who had taken the brunt of the blast. Plan B was in effect. Now they just had to survive it.

What a great little shop! My middle schooler needed a book and they had a lot of age appropriate options. Not only do they sell new books, they also sell used too. The book my kid picked was only $2! Very friendly and helpful employees. Lots of cute gifts too, bookmarks, stickers, handmade jewelry by local artists. Loved this shop. We will be back for sure!
