WORD Jersey City

One of my favorite places to go to in the neighborhood. They carry a good selection of both well-loved and debut authors. There's also a shelf filled with staff picks which I really appreciate. On some days, they host free-to-attend community events like author discussions, club meetings and open mics. The staff is very helpful and approachable. There's a small book cart outside for discounted books as well (nothing above $10 I think?). Really great place to get cards too!

My daughter absolutely loves coming to this place to get her graphic novels. The joy in her eyes melts my heart. The whole process of running to children's section, reading through every book's back cover (they never interrupt and we could just spend the whole day there), then making a choice and purchasing her favorite book is an absolute fun experience. For kiddos born in this digital age, this place connects them to the physical book universe. We both like the staff that work here very much as they are courteous, helpful, and in my daughter's own words, "magicians who can find and get any book!" On two separate occasions I have asked them to purchase books that were not in stock and they did promptly. Even this morning my daughter declared this was the best place in the world!.I know they have wide diversity of books for grownups as well but we come in for the children's books and board games!

I went here for the first time yesterday and I had a great experience. They had exactly what I wanted to get and more. The service was truly great also. I'll definitely be back. Thanks for the free bookmark.

While I didn’t shop publicly, I shopped online and it was great to be able to support a small business! The cute thank you note on my receipt was a sweet touch. I’ll definitely shop there again! Hopefully in person sometime
