A Good Book is located in downtown Sumner, Washington. It's a quaint little store, run by a quirky cast of characters who adore books. The store isand not necessarily in a Doctor Who sort of way, but if you get the reference, then yes, you know exactly what we're talking aboutbigger on the inside than the outside. And what's inside? Well, books, of course. Old books, new books, books for kids, books for adults.

Love this local bookstore. It's a small bookstore with lots of selection. They have used books for a discount and they buy books if you want to sell any books. They have great displays and lots of bookmarks, stickers, and knick-knacks. I love their selection of horror and science fiction and fantasy books. They have a great journal and coloring book selection. Just wish they had a public restroom, no public restrooms.

I have loved shopping at A Good Book in Sumner for years. I have supported their business by purchasing books, teachers gifts, gift cards and other misc. book items. I recently went there with my mom. She tried to talk to the employees about possibly selling some handmade bookmarks, book pins and book magnets. She was very nervous and excited to possibly share her work with this business. It takes a lot of courage to approach small businesses and she was not even able to show her product to the employees. She got an immediate brush off. I understand not being able to sell something and having to decline but to be rude is disheartening to say the least. Please think about this in the future and take the time to consider the person sharing their art and craft that they spend hours doing and have a little compassion in your approach. This was a disappointing experience that makes me second guess shopping there in the future.

Would not recommend if you have any physical accessibility needs. Entrance is very difficult to get a wheelchair in and out of; I’m lucky I had my caregiver pushing me (with much difficulty) into the store, because if I were self propelling I would not be able to get into the store at all. Staff had to move stuff around when I was in the store in order to get my wheelchair around. Though I appreciated the effort from staff while in the store, I feel it is concerning that accessibility was not taken into consideration until a disabled person was there. Was also talked down to, felt like staff was “baby talking” to me, as if I am not an adult with autonomy. If I were able bodied I’m sure my experience here would be fine, but as a disabled individual, I shouldn’t have a lesser experience because a company hasn’t taken accessibility into consideration.

Our favorite local book shop! They have all the greats and we love that they do new and used books. My kids love the kids loft and the set up and are always asking about when we will return. I highly recommend this shop if you love books and want to support local.
