Asian American Curriculum Project (AACP, Inc.) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate the general public about Asian and Pacific Islander American culture, history, and current experiences. We do this through the books and materials that we sell, distribute, and create, and through our advocacy efforts.

Very interesting store, limited open hours. Something for everyone with a broad inventory--local history books included!

Great mom and pop book shop selling books on Asian American history and culture. They also sell koinobori (carp for Japanese Children’s Day), chopsticks, origami paper. There are only two stores like this in the Bay Area, the other one being Eastwind Books in Berkeley. Volunteer run.

I really enjoyed visiting Book People in San Mateo, CA ! I mostly enjoyed their nonfiction section because they had a ton of interesting props, items, furniture to accentuate the books on display.I got lost in that store for hours.I loved all the personal staff displays along with explanation of why they chose their book.Take out a least an hour to look over the store if not more. It is full of things to look at and do. They seem to always host events, book signings, book talks, and even birthday parties. It is really the perfect community book store for San Mateo, CA .
