With its cozy and tasteful aesthetic down to a tee, the curated charm of Book Culture is a magnet to many. Handcrafted keepsakes and trinkets line its shelves, and the countless seasonal displays invite you to linger. Behind the main store front is a kids cottage packed with treasures of child paraphernalia. Buying at Book Culture is buying quality items, and prices range from moderate to high. Book lovers and any appreciating beauty and craftsmanship will love this heart of Main Street.

Lovely and cozy as someone noted. Then there is a table stacked with pro Palestinian books that is rather disturbing. Books that are so anti Semitic, one sided and hate filled. Glorifying Hamas who are basically terrorists. Shop here if you want, but they make their stance clear by prominently displaying not just one or two titles, but a whole display. I am aware we have freedom of speech. There were just so many books glorifying the Palestinian position, books that vilified Israel. I didn’t see anything displayed like Noah Tishby’s book ‘Israel’. The books themselves have bright well designed and clever covers; it would be like putting an Andy Warhol cover on Mein Kampf and marketing it as ‘another opinion’. My opinion, passive aggressive and pretending not to be anti semitic. So here it is hiding in plain sight in the middle of historic and pretty Pittsford village. I had a couple of things I was going to purchase, and I am sure the service is lovely, didn’t feel the need to support this.

I adore this store! It has such an inviting atmosphere and has all the gifts you could possibly need. I love that there are written notes for books that are staff picks/recommendations, and the selection of books is amazing. Everyone is so friendly, and I saw a pup stop in for a treat today! You can also write a letter and they will post it for you. It’s nice to walk around the village with a coffee and stop by here for some good books and merch. Definitely will be a regular here!

Extremely pleasant independent book store. While not nearly as large as the nearby Barnes & Noble, they make up for it with a great book selection and friendly and knowledgeable staff. I love the decorations and vibe inside, and they always have a large section dedicated to books on politically relevant topics, not afraid at all of controversial topics such as the genocide in Palestine or Trump. I saw a review calling their section on Palestine antisemitic, but as a Jew myself, I couldn't disagree more. I haven't gotten the slightest impression from either the store itself or any of its staff that any of it is antisemitic. Maybe if he spent as much time reading some of those books as he does complaining about them, he would agree with that. I will say that the massive NATO flag outside is quite a choice, to say the least, but I understand wanting to support Ukraine. I always feel welcome here, and the employees usually have great book recommendations if you ask. I'm far happier spending my money here supporting an independent book store than I am spending it at a monopoly like Barnes & Noble.
