Books & Whimsy

I don’t know if there’s some kind of extenuating circumstances that would explain it, but the older pictures on this listing do not look anything like what this bookstore looks like now. It unfortunately seems to have fallen into disarray recently. I don’t mind piles of unorganized books in a bookstore—it can definitely lend coziness to a good reading space—but this was beyond that. There are so many boxes of unorganized books everywhere that it was actually difficult to make your way around the store, or even reach some of the shelves. The person working the checkout was kind and helpful.

Really enjoyed this place. Lots of books to browse. Great prices,,great addition to a greatlittle downtown..

I decided to check out Books and Whimsy and I was not impressed to say the least. This little shop is very dirty and dimly lit, the clutter makes it almost impossible to move about the store comfortably and it has an odd smell to it. There was little to no organization of their books and I noticed the people working there do not wear shoes which is highly unprofessional in my honest opinion. It’s very unfortunate as I wanted to love this small business so much and I am an avid reader but my last visit left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be returning.
