I cant find a phone number for your store and I would really like to purchase a book from you. I stopped inside on Wednesday because of your lovely cat sitting inside the windowsill. She gave me a nice tour of the store and I went about my day because I was so tired and fatigued due to having a surgery a few months prior that I have not recovered from physically and emotionally. A book in the video I shot inside your store stood out to me to the point I googled it and its exactly what I'm facing as a black women with the doctors and the Healthcare industry. The book is called "Killing the Black body". I can easily order this book from amazon but I don't want to do that. I would like to support your store. The very thing this book talks about is exactly my testimony. It's the only reason I didn't stay longer and introduce myself. I felt I was going to pass out any moment. I'll attach the video of me stopping in and getting to know your kitty. And I want to thank you for being a beacon to the community and standing up for women. Being put into clinical menopause has ruined my quality of life. The surgery was unnecessarily done. And the book "Killing the Black body". I believe will help me through my journey to trying to find some sort of normalcy. The signs were there for me to see, thank goodness for me taking video of your cat, she's a blessing! Loved this store. The owner was so kind. I bought 5 books. This is the kind of book store I wish I had in my area. The little trinkets sold were cute and funny. If I had more space for mugs, I would have gotten one. It felt easy looking for the type of books I like to read because it was a whole store of them.

Found this place while out on a friend‘s birthday adventure! Drawn in my their sign, stayed for the good vibes and CUTE CAT. And found a book to join my banned books collection :33 Can’t wait to come back and find more banned books for my collection!

Card Carrying Books is so much more than simply a bookstore. While physically it offers a wide variety of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry for a wide variety of ages and backgrounds, the store offers so much beyond that to the community. It’s a place of warmth and welcome. It’s a place of safety and encouragement. There are events for all ages - Drag Story Time, SPCA read to a cat afternoons (which is what brought Page Turner to her forever home as a shop cat), poetry readings for elementary school students and also for adults, social justice gatherings, book clubs focused on different subjects, holiday celebrations like Pride and the anniversary of women’s right to vote, prom gatherings, wine tastings… the potential is endless because the owner, Bethany Hammond, is firmly committed to connecting with the community at large. The impact that this small business has and has had is no small thing! Locals and visitors alike should make a point to visit soon!
