Beautiful little book shop in downtown Manteo. Don't quote me on this but I believe it's woman owned/operated. Had a fantastic selection of books, stickers, cards, etc etc. Great place to pick up books and gifts for your friends who are avid readers.

Cute little shop! I think we met the owner - lady with blonde hair. Super sweet and attentive. Greeted us upon arrival and offered help with our book search. Books have review cards with short summaries. I liked the displays very rustic. Great selections many options. Decent prices. Paper bags available (we are plastic free and appreciate this so so much!)

Wonderful bookstore. Great selection. Lots of local authors available. Definitely a must visit when in the area.

Downtown Books is a fantastic bookstore. The selection is on the small side, but they also sell great gifts, bookmarks, and other knick knacks. Any lack of variety in their book inventory is more than made up for by the quaint charm of the store and staff. Very highly recommend! 👍 👍

I remember taking my kids to this bookstore when they young ...fast forward 36 years and now I come here with my grandchildren.. quaint and such a good selection of books for all ages.. I prefer coming here in the off season only because it's less crowded for it seems to be a popular spot to shop .. I highly recommend checking them out in-season or off-season ..
