Island Bookstore (Duck)

Support local independent bookstores!! They have a HUGE selection of books for all interests and age levels and have the most extensive local books (different local history books as well as fiction and non-fiction and urban legends/ghost stories) that I've seen down here. They also have so.e beautiful journals and really cool bookmarks. Definitely would shop again!

I found some great books. Island books has a very nice selection of books and plenty of books for children too. I especially appreciated the local history area.

Cutest little independent bookstore with every genre you could imagine. Don't forget to check out the second floor. Definitely worth the stop.

A cute little bookstore that offers a small collection of books in a variety of topics. I already knew I was in trouble when I approached the store and found that my favorite author had just released her latest book, and they had limited edition signed copies! It made my week. The store also offers cute decals and stickers, book sleeves, bookmarks, journals, tote bags, gifts, and so much more! I got this really cool Voyager Notebook for my husband, it contains multiple types of paper for his various sketches and equations he's working on. We made two trips this week and spent a good portion of our vacation spending money here alone. Highly recommended, this is one of the best book stores in the OBX. *Edit: I completely forgot! They also had a banned book section! Support this wonderful place.
