Excelsior Bay Books

This is one of my favorite bookstores in the world. The owners and employees who are typically here know all about every book I’ve ever asked about, they let our kids sit here and read as long as they want and their shop poodle is just the best. I think this place is an absolute must if you come to downtown excelsior. Enjoy!

This was such a charming little bookstore. Found a new book by my favorite author to enjoy. The sweet lady who helped me checkout was an absolute joy! One of the kindest souls I’ve ever met. I wish I lived in MN so I could go here more often.

I needed last minute Christmas gifts for some book worms and this is the perfect cute bookstore. The staff was very knowledgeable and helped me find my books. There were a variety of books from History, non fiction and children's books. I ended up buying a book for myself along with books that my kids wanted. I actually could stay there all day long maybe on my next day off. There are cozy chairs to sit and get lost in your story. I highly recommend visiting! Updating my review and as always amazing staff helping me find the reads I was looking for :) Great variety from adult to kid topics!

Excelsior Bay Books is a small but cozy bookstore offers an intimate setting on a picturesque street in one of the best "historical" down-towns in the Twin Cities metro. It is a short walk to the lakefront, so I go there several times a year. It is a treat to pick up a book and then order an ice cream cone while enjoying the read. They create interesting book displays. Many are laid out on a table in an inviting manner. With is easy-to-browse format, it is less overwhelming than a block store book shop. We like its natural light which makes it easy to see to take in. Every ounce of floor space smartly adds to its great selection of books, puzzles, guides, toys, stuffed animals, art, cards, and fun gift items. The ladies working here know the books both in stock and available by order. They sure know a good book and are eager to help shoppers locate whatever they have in mind. It offers a nice selection of classics; parents can be confident they are buying a good read that will build up their children. Gift wrap is also available. The choices were as delightful as the books. The young lady who was the recipient of my gift of books was delighted with the fun hedgehogs and ribbon that presented them. If you get a chance, attend the annual LITERATURE LOVERS' LUNCHEON in November. It features multiple authors on their national and local book tours. This local independent bookstore is a true Excelsior MN gem! Their hours of operation are convenient, and all of the staff is nice. Yes, it is a pleasure to shop here!
