Half Price Books Bloomingdale

this location is wonderful! it’s very spacious inside so you’re most likely to stay in there looking around for over an hour. they had this wickedly cool decorated section for collectibles and first editions and i’ve never seen that in any other hpb stores that i’ve been to. they hold books for a week, which is super helpful because i had to drive up here. 10/10 location!

We go here just to wander and enjoy handling physical books to help figure out what to buy. I sell my used books here as well. I don't get a lot for them but I am happy to make room on my shelves by removing books I know I will not read again. And we get used DVD's here.

I've always loved coming here because of the great selection and prices. I was kind of surprised when I purchased 11 movies and 2 books to find they don't have bags to carry your purchases out in. So I had a fun time walking across a parking lot with 11 movies and 2 books stacked up. Kind of felt like school again, hoping nobody bumped you or you stumble on something and drop everything. Not sure why the bags were discontinued, but it makes it hard on customers who might buy more than I did. Other than the bag issue I'm very happy with this store.

Stepping back in time is what it feels like here. Wide selection of books,of course AND they bought some of my old books, it was a positive experience. Nice person took care of me.
