Swallow Stories is an absolute gem in Lisle! From the moment you step inside, the owners are amazing and make you feel so welcome, it’s truly the coziest, most charming bookstore. The space is beautifully curated, and you can tell how much love and care goes into every detail. I especially love the secret room behind the bookshelf! The book selection is fantastic, with something for every type of reader! It feels more like a community hub than just a bookstore. Whether you’re looking for your next great read, a thoughtful gift, or a peaceful place to browse, Swallow Stories is the perfect spot.

This little bookshop is the CUTEST! With its hidden book nook with a door that opens to a secret room, to the cozy reading spaces, Chess/Checkers set up to play- tables & comfy chairs to sit & read! Gift items, & cool book lovers things to buy! We loved EVERYTHING in here! The Owner and/or cashier was very welcoming- he was very nice! Told us all about the events they host & explained what they included… talked about the mini-free library box he made outside- himself! Such an excellent experience! We will definitely be back! Go check it out! You won’t regret it!

Adorable bookshop with a variety of genres, cozy reading nooks, cute gifts, and friendly staff. Perfect addition to the downtown Lisle area. I will definitely be back. P.S. make sure to check out Tales in Tandem so you can add your own part to this ongoing, visitor-written story :)

A local GEM! An independent bookstore in downtown Lisle! I highly recommend the book club here. It is a great group of people and I value the opportunity to read and discuss a wide variety of books. Miriam, the proprietor, could not be any more wonderful. She will order any book that you need and is a great source of recommendations. I hope Lisle downtown keeps adding more great independent shops like this!

Walking into Swallow Stories Bookshop feels like stepping right into Stars Hollow on a crisp October morning. The bell above the door gives a soft jingle, and suddenly, you’re wrapped in the scent of pumpkin , literature , and warm lighting. The wooden shelves are lined with love of a page waiting to be turned. The kind of personal touch that makes you feel instantly at home.
